Certificates help to develop a riders knowledge of horse care and riding in a stepped way.

The Certificate program is underpinned by the PCA Syllabus of instruction. Certificates begin at E and finish at A.

When a rider achieves a certificate they are awarded a certificate,and their certificate is recorded on MyPonyClub.

Certificates are mandatory to compete at State Events. 12 & Under - D certificate (minimum), 13 & Over - C certfificate minimum.
WHAT CERTIFICATES ARE AVAILABLE FOR RIDERS TO UNDERTAKE?
Certificates at the lower levels E, D & D* are conducted and awarded by the Clubs, C-B are conducted and awarded by the Zone and the A Certificate is conducted and awarded by the State.

WHAT DOES MY CLUB HAVE TO DO TO UNDERTAKE CERTIFICATES FOR RIDERS?

First get your riders to log into MyPonyClub and order the manual for the certificate level they are wanting to undertake.

The certificate books can be ordered from the Member Store in MyPonyClub.

Your riders will need to know their PonyClub ID (Member number)

Rallies/Musters should provide opportunities for theory to be taught and work on manuals.

Use the PCA syllabus of instruction for reference.

Encourage riders and parents to check if they are ready to be assessed.
WHAT DO RIDERS HAVE TO DO TO UNDERTAKE CERTIFICATES?

Log into MyPonyClub and order the manual for the certificate level you are wanting to undertake.

Attend rallies/musters to complete workbook/sheets

Check with your CI if you are ready to be assessed.
ON THE ASSESSMENT DAY/S:

PRESENTATION:
-
For ridden assessments, candidates must wear Pony Club formal uniform.
-
The horse must be clean and tidy, with hooves showing evidence of care.
-
All tack must be clean and fit correctly, and be in good repair.

Riders should ride in a snaffle bit where possible. If another bit is used for higher certificates, the candidate should be able to explain i ts action.
Club Instructors assessing riders - E, D & D* ONLY:

Check & sign off completed workbook/sheets.

Complete Summary assessment sheet

Email a copy of assessment sheet and summary to both PCQ & Zone 6 for verification.
HOW ARE CERTIFICATES RECORDED ON THE MEMBERS PROFILE?

Once verified the certificates will be added to the rider's MyPonyClub profile by Zone.
